Quote from Rick Guirlinger on May 1, 2024, 11:07 amFrank: If you remember, I asked Ted Wilder at a car club/car show meeting if he had now become an agent for Hagerty since State Farm was supposed to be an authorized agency for them. Ted told us that the agreement has not yet been finalized or put into place. I have Hagerty for my C8 and 911 but I handle all of it directly online. Rick G.

Quote from Frank Everitt on May 1, 2024, 11:26 amThanks Rick, that’s what I needed to know. As for SF, they can’t rep Hagerty due to NC legislation. They’re working on it but nothing yet.

I've always worked with the folks on the other end of the 800 number. Have always found them friendly and helpful.
Decisions on values were made in minutes over the phone.
Speak directly to Hagerty may avoid mis understanding.

I use Carter Glass Agency, I have stated values on both of mine, (was originally Southern Classic Auto ins). I have used them for many years, they write Hagerty and she and hubby have a restored Olds 442. Their Agency used a Classic insurance company that was purchased by Hagerty. That allowed me to add my 2005.

Quote from Dennis Moore on May 8, 2024, 9:22 pmHagerty is the best classic/collector insurance market, period.
44 years I was an Independent Agent, sold my Agency in 2022. represented Hagerty since 1999.
Its Not Just Price, Its Not just the ability to cover to " agreed amount"
The Best thing is..: Claims. Hagerty adjusters KNOW classics, 'standard carrier' adjusters Don't. (plus it's ACV)
Plus, Hagerty will actually Assist in Restoration ( parts, shops etc) - That is why you Need to Insure classic auto with Hagerty

Quote from Frank Everitt on May 9, 2024, 6:41 pmThanks for all the input. I’m going with Hagerty and their phone support. I don’t think I need a local agent at all.
