DESCRIPTION:For this cruise we’re returning to the Johnston County Airport where there is a great BBQ restaurant on the 3rd floor overlooking the runway: Low and Slow Smokehouse. Hopefully there will be some plane activity to watch. There is dining available both inside and outside. \nSign up at https://www.corvettesinternational.com/signups/sunday-afternoon-cruise-to-low-slow-smokehouse-august-23-2020/ \nTheir address: 3149B Swift Creek Rd\, Smithfield\, NC \nhttps://www.lowandslowsmokehouse.com/ \n2 Stage-up Options: \n\nThose of you who want to “stage-up” in Wake Forest can meet us at:\n\n600 Dr Calvin Jones Hwy (Rt 98) Suite 100.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is the parking lot for Coldwell Banker Advantage-Wake Forest.\nHeading east\, turn right onto Siena Dr. off of Calvin Jones Hwy\, then turn left onto Siena Office Park Rd.\, which goes through the parking lot for Coldwell Banker Advantage Office Building.\nYou can see the building from Calvin Jones Hwy but the parking lot is on the south side of the building.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDeparture time: 1:30. It will take about 1 hour to get to the airport/restaurant\, via the scenic route.\n\n\n\n\nThose of you in Raleigh or southern Wake County can meet the rest of us at the airport (Low and Slow Smokehouse) at about 2:45 PM.\n\nCaravan Driving TIPs: \n\nYour job is to keep track of the car directly behind you. If that driver slows down\, you slow down. Or if that driver has to stop\, you pull over to wait for them as soon as possible. If everyone does this\, it will cause a reverse domino effect. The leader will then only have to pay attention to the car directly behind him/her rather than trying to keep track of everyone\, and it will keep all cars in closer proximity.\nWhen approaching an intersection with a Green Light\, get through the intersection as quickly as possible. If you lolly-gag\, the chances of you and the cars behind you catching a Red Light greatly increases. So stay “as tight as is safe” when you see a light ahead of us.\nIf we have to stop for a Red Light\, and there are multiple turn lanes\, break out of line so we can occupy all turn lanes. Then once we get through the light you can get back into single file.\nIf we are traveling on a multi-lane road and you are the last car in line and you are able to anticipate when the leader is going to make a lane change\, go ahead and make the lane change ASAP. This will then tie up both lanes\, allowing all cars in between the leader and you\, the tail car\, to change lanes with minimal distractions.\n\nLocation: Low & Slow Smokehouse (at the Johnston County Airport) \n3149B Swift Creek Rd\, Smithfield\, NC
