Brief History of Corvettes International

In the Spring of 1968, a group of Corvette enthusiasts met in Raleigh, North Carolina to establish Corvettes International. Since 1968, Corvettes International has thrived as a traditional car club focusing on helping other corvette owners with mechanical and interior/exterior issues on all Corvettes as well as giving back to the community where we live. Each Spring  the Club puts on the Fun in the Sun car show to benefit North Carolina charities. For the past 10 years, the car show has allowed us to donate more than $100,000 to Transitions LifeCare/Hospice.

Our club hosts a general membership meeting on the first Tuesday of every month. One of the unique features of Corvettes International is that during our meeting a special time set aside for tech questions/car problems. With a number of engineers and do-it-yourselfers in the club, there is a wealth of knowledge shared among the Corvettes International group.

Our membership averages 65 – 75 members per year with the majority belonging to NCCC (National Council of Corvette Clubs). Twenty seven percent of our members have been in Corvettes International for over 15 years. Thirty percent of our members are multiple corvette owners and account for 43 Corvettes in just the C1 – C4 categories alone. The number of Corvettes grows significantly when we include the cars in the C-5 to C8 categories.

The club is sponsored by Ted Wilder State Farm Insurance, who supports our efforts throughout the year and is also a major sponsor of  our annual NCCC April Car Show. This show, which traditionally takes place in April in Raleigh, North Carolina, is well known as one of the best car shows in the North Carolina, South Carolina and the Virginia area. Often entrants travel from the mountains and coast of North and South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia to attend the car show and help us support Transitions LifeCare. Advance Auto has joined as a sponsor of our Spring show and has been a major contributor for the past few years.  More than 140 cars were registered for our 2019 Car Show.
